Cruise

These Cruiseliners are operating again. See how you can become eligible

A cruise is a great way to get away from the world, relax on the water, and get some sun with little exposure to the world. As the cruise companies reopen and start moving people around the world, consider booking off-season. Look for ways to pair up your travel packages for the most convenient travel times and best prices.

Carnival Cruises

Starting in May of 2021, Carnival Cruise Lines are offering trips to:

  • Alaska
  • The Bahamas
  • Mexico
  • The Caribbean

Depending on where you’re traveling from, you can find multiple trips to any of these ports. Your travel plans may need to include a trip to Los Angeles or Seattle if you’re planning to sail to Alaska. If you’re looking for a deep discount, having fast access to either of these cities will keep you close. You may receive a notification of a great deal but the time window might be short.

Royal Caribbean

The Royal Caribbean Cruise offerings for the spring and summer of 2021 include trips to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and a transatlantic crossing. There are also shorter cruises from various cities in Florida to cities in Mexico.

Of course, one of the loveliest things about cruising is that you can skip the shore trip and simply remain on the boat. Imagine staying in a world-class hotel that moves every night with no work on your part!

Celebrity Cruises

If you’re planning a fall 2021 cruise, there are many seven day cruise options available with trips to the Caribbean and to the Bahamas and Mexico. The seven day cruise to the Western Caribbean will travel from Fort Lauderdale. Stops include

  • Cozumel
  • Costa Maya
  • Honduras
  • Nassau

If you have concerns about any health risks going on shore, stay put and celebrate your time on the boat. Celebrity Cruise ships include spas, gyms, an art collection, and the chance to get your photo taken to celebrate your relaxing, fun trip.

Gaining Eligibility

If you’re interested in booking your trip quickly and getting the best price, you’re going to need to stay flexible. You may also need to have easy access to the port city of your favorite cruise. For example, if you’re interested in a low-cost cruise to Alaska for summer 2021, you may need to get to Seattle quickly.

That being said, if you or your partner area member of AARP, consider signing up for their cruise promotions. Not only will you be notified of any discounts available for those 55 and older, but you may qualify for additional discounts with your AARP card.

If you’re ready to travel, a cruise can be an ideal option to help control your exposure to the world. By staying flexible and having fast access to a port city or transportation hub, you can find deeply discounted bookings that can turn your free time into a once in a lifetime trip.
